Getting Started
Before you start using the site, it helps to know how you are connected to the internet.
- If you access the internet through your phone, you have a dial-up, or modem connection.
- If you do not have to dial in to the internet using your phone line, you have a high-speed connection.
Changing the Size of the Text on Your Screen
To increase the font size of the information on your monitor screen, click on "View" at the top of the screen you are in, select "Text Size," and then, click on the text size option that you would like to have appear on your screen. The information will print in this size, as well.
Viewing the Educational Module Videos
Content on this site is presented in two ways, to make it easy for you to learn regardless of your connection speed.
First, if you have a high-speed connection, click the button that reads ‘Start the Large Video.’ If you have a dial-up connection, click the button that reads ‘Start the Small Video.’ The video module will pop up in a small window.
When you click on the "Start Video" button, the player will open up and the movie will start.
Some web browsers will ask if you want to save the video to your computer, or ask what application to open it with. If this happens to you, choose to open the file with Windows Media Player. Click the play button to start the video.
When the video is playing, the "play" button will change to a "pause" button with two vertical lines. You can stop the video at any time by pressing this button - when you do this it will change to the play arrow. To restart the video, simply press play again.
Your video player may look slightly different than the player pictured here but will have the same controls.
